The Best of Vienna and Reston Awards
For five consecutive years Botero won the first prize, awarded by the U.S. Commerce Association in the single family house construction category. The winners are exceptional companies that enhance the positive image of small businesses through outstanding service to their customers and community. Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) of the award recipients qualified.
The GALA Awards (Great American Living Awards)
In 2012, Botero won 2 “Best Feature” GALA Awards. The GALA Awards are sponsored by the Northern Virginia House Building Association, Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association, and the District of Columbia Building Association. Although this competition covers mainly the builders of production homes in large scale and not the “custom builders”, Botero participated and won 2 awards.
The Monument Awards: Four-Times First Prize Winner
Sponsored by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association and the Maryland-National Capital Building Association, the Monument Awards honor the homes and communities of the metropolitan Washington Homebuilding Companies whose homes have been judged “the best of the best” for design and value by a panel of their peers. Mr. Botero, through his companies, has received the prestigious award four times in the luxury category. This has made Mr. Botero the Best Luxury Homes Builder in the area. Due to the difficulties of the depression that started in 2008, the Monument Award competition has been suspended since then.

Awarded by The Small Business Institute for Excellence in Commerce, as Botero “consistently demonstrated a high regard for upholding business ethics and company values and has set benchmarks that the industry should follow”.

Botero Will Abstain from Participating in Awards
Due to the complexity of and time consuming process, Botero has decided that – for awhile – it will not participate in awards. Botero has already earned 18 Awards and Distinctions and feels it is time to let everyone else get some. “We will be back in 3 or 4 years.”
